Converting and Uploading Videos via Handbrake
Handbrake is one of the tools used to convert recorded evidence videos recorded via phone screen recorders, webcams, or phone camera. The resulting videos’ size and quality are balanced enough in order to be uploaded fast to our bug tracker or to your Tester Work account as well as having a good overall image quality. I.e. It converts 70 Mb videos to 1Mb videos.
This guide will cover step by step the flow of downloading the software on your computer, converting the videos, and uploading them to our platform
Install Handbrake
- Open https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php and download the installer for your operating system
2. Open the Setup file, and install the app
Converting Videos via Handbrake

- Open Handbrake
- Click on Open Source and select the video you want to convert and compress
- Make sure that the preset is set to Very Fast 480p30 (in the right side menu)
- Make sure that the file format is MP4 (in the Container menu)
- Select a destination path (make sure you put .mp4 at the end)
- Click on Convert
Trimming Videos
- Click on Open Source and select the video you want to trim
- Click on the “Chapters” dropdown, then select “Seconds” (alternatively, you can select Frames, for even better precision)
- Select the second you wish the video to start, and the second for the video to finish
- Click “Preview” in order to confirm it is the correct video length
- Convert the video
