Survey-based projects are a simple way to share your experiences and get paid for your feedback. Here’s everything you need to know about how these testing cycles work.
How do I get invited to a survey-based cycle?
Each survey project looks for a specific group of testers. Because of this, you can’t request to join a survey cycle yourself.
If your profile matches what the project needs, you’ll receive an invitation automatically. Thanks for your understanding!
What does the invite look like?
You’ll get an email invite from TesterWork. The email will tell you:
how long it takes
how much you’ll get paid
the deadline
the survey language
the survey link
The email will also highlight important things to keep in mind so your response can be approved.
Where will I find the survey?
The survey link is included only in the invitation email.
Surveys are hosted on Qualtrics, so the link will be on a Qualtrics domain rather than the TesterWork website. This is completely normal.

What kind of feedback are we looking for?
We’re interested in your real experiences and honest opinions. This may include things like:
How you use certain apps or platforms
Your personal preferences
What’s popular in your country or region
Your overall experience with a product or service
There are no “right” or “wrong” answers. We just want to hear from you.
What type of questions can you expect?
Survey questions are usually straightforward and opinion-based, for example:
How often do you use the [ABC] app?
What do you mainly use the [ABC] app for?
If you could change one thing about the [ABC] app, what would it be and why?
How would you rate your overall experience with the [ABC] app?
How do I make sure my response is approved?
To give your response the best chance of approval:
Be honest and share your real opinions
Provide detailed answers whenever possible
Take your time and answer every question
The more thoughtful and specific your feedback is, the more valuable it is to us.
Please see this article for more details: How to answer questions and provide good feedback
By default, surveys are available in your native language. You can also choose another language using the drop-down menu in the top-right corner of the survey (as in the image below).

Why was my response rejected?
Here are the most common reasons responses may not be accepted:
AI-generated answers
We want feedback from real people. Please don’t use AI tools like ChatGPT to generate responses. Light rephrasing tools are okay, but the ideas must be your own.Very short or vague answers
One-word or minimal responses don’t give us enough insight. More detail is always better.Partially completed surveys
You must answer all questions to receive payment. Make sure you have enough time before starting.Ineligible participation
Only testers who meet the project criteria can take part. If you don’t qualify, you won’t be paid.Non-invited testers
Only testers who receive an official invitation can participate. Sharing or passing along invites is against the rules.
When will I get paid?
Payments are processed within 2 weeks after the project closes, not immediately after you complete the survey.
If you believe your payment is delayed, please reach out to us via the Zendesk Support Center, and we’ll be happy to help.
