What is the onboarding process like?

Getting started with Tester Work is quick and flexible. Whether you’re looking to join as a QA tester or contribute to usability-focused projects without a technical background, we have an opportunity for you.

Step 1: Register your account

Start by creating your account and filling in a few key details:

• Personal information

• Testing experience and availability

• Devices and operating systems you can test on

You can update most of this information later, just make sure it’s accurate to help us match you with the right projects.

Step 2: Take the assessment

Our short test (around 10–20 minutes) helps us understand your skills and match you to the right opportunities. It covers:

• Basic QA testing concepts

• Written English proficiency

Before you start, we’ll give you a bug reporting guide. It’s your “cheat sheet” for success, so read it carefully.

If you pass

Congratulations! You’re officially a QA tester with Tester Work! You’ll start getting invites for exciting test cycles as soon as we can match your tester profile with an opportunity.

If you don’t pass

Here’s how it works:

• First attempt: Didn’t make it? You can try again immediately.

• Second attempt: If it still doesn’t work out, you have two paths:

  1. Wait 45 days and we’ll email you when it’s time for another try.

  2. Switch to the non-tech track — sign up through our form and join usability-focused tests.
     
     Heads up: If you choose this track, you won’t be able to return to the tech crowd later. You’ll only participate in usability tests.

Step 3: Start testing and earning

Once you’re active, we’ll send you invitations that match your skills, availability, and devices.
