Now let’s see what are the most common errors we receive when trying to honor your work on
Upwork:
1. “Upwork contract created, but not released”
We have a scheduled payment session every week, usually on Tuesday or Wednesday. However, we prepare the contracts prior to our payment days in order to give freelancers time to accept it, as we noticed that it takes most freelancers about 3 days to do so.
If you do not accept the contract before our payment day in a certain week, you will receive the payment only at the next scheduled payout sessions (most probably one week later).
So, if you opted for Upwork as a payout method and you await the payment for a certain task, keep an eye on unconfirmed contracts.
2. “Payment request failure (Upwork account is not available for job)”
It happens many times that our payment department attempts to send out the payment for the testers’ contribution to our projects via Upwork, however, they stumble over an error as it appears the profiles the testers provided cannot receive contract requests.
If you are in the same shoes, you can contact Upwork support or find a different payout solution.
Example: you sign up on Tester Work and find out that you have to choose between Upwork or PayPal. This last payout method is not operating in your country, thus you create an Upwork profile. Everything seems to be fine, however, Upwork restricts your profile as there are too many professionals in the same domain as you who are already signed-up in your country. You are aware that you can’t be contacted for possible projects, but you still would like to use your account to be paid through it by us. But when we attempt to find your Upwork profile in order to hire and pay you, we’ll receive the error message regarding the fact that your account is restricted and we can’t create a contract for you.
3. “Minimum contractual value”
Upwork has a threshold too: $5. This means that your payment has to be at least $5 in order to make the transfer. In these cases, we recommend taking part in another cycle and reporting at least one more issue, in order to overcome the minimum threshold for Upwork.
Upwork also has a nice Support Center, so don’t hesitate to contact them if you have questions or need help!
